Luzhanqi (Land Battle Chess), also known as Junqi (Army Chess), is one of the most popular chess variants in China. Derived from Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) this exciting board game has many aspects in common with the Western game Stratego. Each piece represents a military unit which moves around various geographic features that have different properties such as railroad, headquarters, camp and so on that determine gameplay. As in Stratego, the value of each piece remains hidden to the other side.
